Hey everyone, I know it's been a hot minute.

This break lasted a lot longer than I think any of us were expecting, and I think that's half to do with the utter nonsense of some very specific people that were involved in the mourning process. The other half is a mixture of my continued lack of comprehension of basic time management and a forceful renewal of nostalgia.

Suffice to say I am now back on Task, and ready to work. I'll be working all this week and next to finish up Four and get those pages ready to go, and after that, it'll be smooth sailing for many months to come. I've decided to stick with the Mon/Wed/Fri schedule for consistency. Aside form that, I'll be splitting the rest of the month between working on the Spooky comic and some actual, honest to goodness fanfiction, because I just can't leave well enough alone.
I hope all of you are doing well, and have taken care of yourselves. I know not every day is easy, but I know you posess the strength to get through any hardship. May the fates be kind to you and yours.

Hello everyone! I know it's been a while, and while we're updating again, I appear to be lacking on Patreon once more. I'd like to formally request that if you'd like to keep up to date on everything going on both in my life and about Mitigation and all current projects, I frequent ComicFury far more than Patreon. I'm working on making a schedule for myself to keep track, but until I keep into the swing of it, please keep up here for updates on Mitigation.

I do have some exciting news for you! I took a commission a few months back to do the cover of someone's book, and that book got published! And it's beautiful!!! 'The Many Sins of Rein City' is a YA cyberpunk dystopia about a young girl (Sasha) looking for her missing friend and her father's AI butler/nanny trying to tell her that maaayyyybe breaking into a government facility to go through their backup servers archiving any conversations or recordings from said missing friend's account might possibly be a bad idea.

It took me a lot longer than I wanted to to get around to talking about this book because I'm not really sure what to say about it. I do highly recommend that you give it a read, because the author really did do a fantastic job writing the characters and setting the stage. I love the villains and the side characters, and best of all I love Toby. We stan that sass master!!

I'm currently fighting my mom to get her to read it because she has a particular taste for good literature. If you guys are interested, you can purchase a copy on Amazon

As for that spooky comic I promised, I DO indeed have an update for that. While on my vacation from work, I decided to sit down and do a new puzzle I got; and then I got mad at the puzzle and put it away because I couldn't focus on anything else. Then I grabbed a bunch of printer paper, a ruler, an exacto knife and some glue and made an easy frame reference for all 'traditional' pages (that's fancy talk for irl and on paper) of the Spooky comic. And then I went "man... I went through all this effort to make this very nice frame that doesn't fit normal printer paper....but I've got this nice rectangle now that's the same size.... hey! I know!

And I sat down and made half the pages for the comic over the course of two days before my brain couldn't comprehend shapes anymore. The above picture is the full-page sketch of the cover, and unfortunately that, and the on below is all I'll be sharing for some time! I want to get hype for this comic, but not to the point that the expectations force me to put my hands over my ears. I will be posting regular updates as far as progress goes, and some preview panels in time.

Guys, I've got some fantastic news. I've finally finished the writing and thumbnails for Chapter Two's rewrite. I've got the entire chapter transcribed onto a text document and I've just about finished the first batch of pages. Which means that we are just about back!!

We'll be starting on Monday, May 24th at 7:30 AM CST
We're not starting right away, because I want to take a little extra time to get some decent progress on the second batch of pages as well. It'll also give me some time to pull together resources for some height charts and maps, and some of you were very excited about that!

Thank you all so much for your patience and understanding over this very long hiatus; and with how crazy and messy life is and can be, I'm very much looking forward to coming back. As always, please follow us on the discord for frequent updates and a truly wonderful community of readers like you. I hope to see you all again very soon!

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I know it's been a while since I gave you an update. As of this last week, I am officially and fully moved in at my new place; and Pup's gotten into trouble and had at least two baths since. My office is set up to the point it's functional, although I'm not totally happy with how I've set it up, so that may change in the future. Sad to say, though, I haven't gotten much work done on my side projects like I wanted to. Done plenty of doodles and expanded the lore on it, sure, even started looking into worldbuilding websites to make it easier to keep everything in one cohesive unit, but writing progress has, unfortunately, been fairly negligible. 

The only conclusion I've come to is that it's very likely going to end up a series of stories and each one is centered on a completely different character- not unlike the discworld series. This world is very big, and I feel it would be incredibly difficult to give it a true chance to shine if I slapped it all together in one telling. And yes. I did make a map. Shush.

Mitigation's second chapter has been putting me through the ringer for some time now. I thought I had a vision for it, but each time I approached the idea, it ran away from me. After almost a month and a half of racking my brain for a flow, and even asking friends for help, all to no avail; I took a drive. I drove down roads I'd never been on, took random turns to see where they'd go and somehow found myself halfway to Clinton by the time I realized where I was. It's always a good idea to explore your area in case you ever get lost and don't have GPS to guide you back, but it's also a good idea to get away from your work when your stuck and go out for a walk or for a drive to clear your head. To separate yourself from the problem and think about it differently.

It really helps. I finally had a spark and I held onto it for a bit to toss the idea around, mold it to fit what I needed, and then I came home, read what I had, inputted the idea and realized how badly I'd written 2's revamp! I still have it as a reference, but it's basically scrapped at this point. I've started over, gotten to the point I was stuck at and managed to finally get passed it. I've been working on the thumbnails all week and will be finished with it by the end of today, if not, by the end of the week. I'll transcribe it to the script as soon as I've finished and get started on the pages right away, along with a few other miscellaneous images to help get back into the groove of drawing again.

As soon as I get the first few pages ready, I'll make an official post with the Starting Date for Chapter Two. I'm really excited for this chapter, now more than ever. It's going to be so gorgeous!

I'd like to take this time to thank everyone who's stuck with me through the good and the bad, the frequent updates and the long silences. I'd also like to thank those of you who've joined us recently! Welcome to the brigade! You've joined a truly wonderful community and I'm so glad to see it thriving as it has! We've actually surpassed our first goal of $10 a month and I am super excited! I wasn't expecting this to happen so quickly. I'll be looking more into building a dedicated website for my stories, though it is likely Pokemon will live on Comic Fury until it's succumbed to the passage of time. I haven't found anything that's sticking with me just yet, and I'll be asking for some help on that front; in the meantime the funds donated so far will be used to assist further comic creation (buying drawing materials, paper and especially page protectors-I'm not risking Pup getting the munchies for fiber!)

One last thing before I go, well, two actually: I've recently learned that Nintendo is making a remake of Gen 4 (which is meant to be a prequel?) and/or a fully open world Pokemon game. Everyone seems to have very mixed reactions both on the content and art style, which I can understand. Personally, I think the chibi style is oddly faithful to Sinnoh's original release, and I think it'd be refreshing to experience it again it a way that feels familiar. Either game would be a wonderful addition and despite my beef, I'm cautiously optimistic; both installments could be an amazing source of lore expansion for the Pokemon Universe, and as I'm trying to actually compile all of my sources, this would be a wonderful addition. I'm very much out of the loop, and have been for a while. And I am ashamed for that. I feel like I've missed out on a lot.

Greetings and Belqted Happy New Year, Everyone!!

First of all, I've got some good news: I have a new place lined up and will be moving in about a week. It's a little smaller than where I'm at now, but I am extremely excited to be taking this next step in my life.
I've been doing a lot of work while I was away, and as soon as I have internet up again, I am very much looking forward to sharing the latest product updates with you all! I've got a lot in store for this year and we've only just begun!

Couple things to look out for:

  - I'm reworking my original story from the ground up. That short that I wrote to introduce this world is being rewritten to better fit the lure, history, language and style that I'll be using for a majority of the project.

- I'm working on an interactive world map for Mitigation that will take you through story and other important locations throughout the world with a dash of sass because I just can't help myself.

  - by about March or April, I'm planning to start up a streaming schedule. Not the promised patreon reward ones but, but streams of me farting around with on games that I enjoy with my friends. In the event patreon streams are unlocked, I will slot dedicated days to that content. And it will stay open, even if funding drops.

I cannot describe how wonderful and patient you all have been for me. Hopefully by February, I'll have internet again and we can get back on the grind! I know it's been a longer while I was planning, and unfortunately, current events have made it difficult to keep up with demand. This is where we get to the section I'm not happy about writing.

In light of recent events within the United States, in which I reside, I find it crucial to inform you that I do not. Have not. And will not condone or support any sort of bigotry and close-mindedness in terms of race, religion, gender/sex, health, or political/food preference. Of all the ways this year could have started, it just had to be one of the most violent and prejudiced acts of disarray. I am deeply saddened that this paragraph even has to be written. Unfortunately, it must. Another artist I follow and love made a similar announcement on her profiles as well, and I feel it Bears repeating here.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. You can be a one-eyed purple squid from Mars happily practicing pastafaria, i don't care! Just so long as you are a decent person and try to treat others with the same patience and respect you expect from them.

Please be safe and practice restraint. I know things are extremely heated right now. For those of you who live in the US, be careful and be kind. We need each other more than ever to get out of this in one piece and to see the brighter future on the horizon.

Hey Guys,

I know I try to keep everything fairly upbeat and have been making an effort to ward away most of the news and other items this year has brought us; and I do hope it's been working, to some extent. To have this site and the Discord be a place where we can try and pretend the outside world isn't happening, if only for a little while. A safe haven for the weary, all that philisophacle dilly dally.

I try not to bring my personal life into these updates, but I feel like you guys deserve to know now rather than on the next page update.

I learned about the beginning of the month that my Grandfather had contracted Covid 19 and had been in the hospital for several weeks up to that point. Now, we don't have the greatest relationship with him, namely because we've hardly been able to sit down and just talk to him for nearly my entire life. I actually reached out to him this last year to try and rekindle any sense of bond we might still have, and he actually reached back! We've exchanged letters and I was hoping to be able to have a chance to have that sit-down shoot-the-breeze- type conversation one day. My bosses are aware of the situation and were kind enough to keep me off my register and had me help them out with little tasks that needed done.
Updates will continue as normal for about two weeks because the pages and comments have already been posted
I will still try to get the next batch finished on time, but I have removed the Monday update from that week to be on the safe side. No, it isn't healthy, I acknowledge that; but I honestly do not know what to do, and sticking to my guns is the only response I've got going for me right now.

Thank you for your understanding. I want you guys to know just how much I love you and your support. Each and every one of you is so special to me.
Please hug your loved ones and pets tightly, let them know you love them too.

"Emergency Evacutation Protest~"

I kid, I kid. Mostly.

The purpose of this blog is to not only set up the overall format of the new place, but also to give you readers, new and old, a little update on what's going.
Regulars here on Comic fury are wondering wehre all these people and comics are coming from and how tey're gaining subs faster than they can get out pages. Others may be just surprised at the sudden flow of traffic.
Allow me to explain:
If other authors haven't already, we're all essentially refugees from Smackjeeves. An otherwise wonderful comic site similar to ComicFury, but sold out to the big man, Mr.MoneybagsMcCorperate. They changed the entire layout of the site to go from an amazing work in progress to absolute glitchy dumpster fire and all of us have fled as a result. That's essentially the gist of it.

To explain my comic and my purpose:
PMD:Mitigation is an unorthadox PMD story that takes a generous amount of liberities with game elements. I don't jsut mean the mechanics of just PMD. I mean I take elements from the entire franchise (up to gen 4) and various Pokemon Theories and have mushed them all together in a single, relatively cohesive package. It is about a war between Humans and Pokemon. How it affects the people around it and those hurt by it. It's a story of redemption and forgiveness.
I hope to start updating again soon, but until then, Please feel free to shoot me any questions you may have, or just to say 'hi'
