You guys remember the computer I built a couple years back? Can't remember if I told you, but I built a tower a couple years back, but it wasn't all the way finished.
so last week, a new friend appeared and offered to help me figure out what was wrong and also help me fix it. he also offered me a REALLY nice monitor for super cheap. Score. He showed up Monday and we got to work.
It tunrs out that not only had the drivers not installed properly, but the drive that had been giving me so much trouble was faulty, not the cords and not the sata plug in the motherboard. It also turned out the monitor had bugs in it. Literal bugs. there were like ten cockroaches, we had to take it apart and clean it, it was great.
So, after Seven, almost EIGHT HOURS of work, formatting, reformatting, unplugging, reinstalling and setting things up from step 1; Edward is finally up and running. The only sign of strife is a small pink line on the monitor from use taking it apart. Honestly: Worth it.
ALSO: remember how me and my dumb butt decided learning Icelandic was a great idea? Well that app I found is legit teaching me good vocab, even if I can only use it for 5 minutes a day, and it's adorable and fun too!
But the two books I managed to find as reference material showed up way earlier than expected, and I'm stoked for that. The books are beautiful and just the perfect size. They don't have as much as I thought they would in them, but again: the most references you can find are literally just Futhark and the Hávamál, so I can't say I'm surprised.
